Retractable type fall arrester is one type of personal fall protection systems. It need to be used with lanyards and full body harnesses together. There are two types of retractable fall arresters, including steel wire rope fall arrester and webbing fall arrester. The retracting feature eliminates tripping hazards while the inertia-locking mechanism arrests a fall within inches of activation. The retractor connects to the fixed sling of the person which is parallel to the hook of the crane and must be attached to an approved point which can be endured 25KN.

Fall Arrester is made of sealed aluminum jacket or plastic shell, automatically controlled by the changed speed. A fall arrest system is a personal fall protection system that arrests a free fall and which limits the impact force on the body of the user or goods during fall arrest.

 

1. Attach the sling of person at the end of the cable line by using safety hook.
2. Visually confirm the connector is properly locked.
3. Never work above the level of the cable retractor.
4. WARNING: Do not use these devices in areas where they can get wet. Moisture on the wire rope material may cause corrosion. Any corrosion could stop the cable retractor from working properly and affect its safety factor.
