Precautions for electrician safety belts

Dec 06, 2020

Electrician's safety belt is a safety device to prevent falling during electrical work.

1. The service life of the seat belt is generally 3 to 5 years. If abnormality is found, it should be discarded in advance.

2. The belt, safety belt and rope of the seat belt should have sufficient mechanical strength, the material should be wear-resistant, and the snap ring (hook) should have a safety device. Safety belts and ropes with a length of more than 3 meters should be buffered.

3. Visual inspection should be carried out before using seat belts:

(1) The components are complete, no shortage, no injury or damage;

(2) No brittle cracks, broken strands or kinks in ropes and braids;

(3) The metal fittings are free of cracks, welding defects, and serious corrosion;

(4) The hook bite of the hook is flat and in good position, and the safety device is complete and reliable;

(5) The rivet has no obvious deviation and the surface is smooth.

4. The seat belt should be fastened to a firm object, and it is forbidden to hang it on moving or unstable objects. Do not tie at sharp edges. The seat belt should be hung high and parallel, and it is strictly forbidden to use it low and high.

5. When working on a pole or tower, the safety belt backup protection rope should be tied to a safe and firm component (live work depends on the specific task to determine whether to tie a backup safety rope), and the backup protection should not be lost.
